Gordon Wayman meets with Dr. Ben Carson in Springfield, Illinois in 2022.  Carson is an American retired neurosurgeon and politician who served as the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 2017 to 2021. A pioneer in the field of neurosurgery, he was a candidate for President of the United States in the 2016 Republican primaries.

In his career with the Illinois Secretary of State, Gordon served as Chairman of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) Financial Responsibility and Insurance Committee for four years.   When his first book was published, this full page article appeared  in their MOVE magazine.

Article in the ASSE Newsletter

Gordon served as an Area Representative for the ASSE Student Exchange Program in central Illinois for ten years.  During that time, the Wayman Family hosted three exchange students.  Their first student, Horst Wenzel of Dortmund, Germany arrived a few weeks before Gordon's first book was published.  This article appeared in the ASSE Newsletter.
